Absurd plot devices

People signing agreements, in front of lawyers, not to disclose a crime to the authorities.
Do they think the authorities will hold up such an agreement?

I started to write an award-winning drama yesterday, based on all of these plot devices.
Got past the first scene, which involved Perchanski stuck in QUICKSAND after taking a loud explanatory phone call from somebody called The Murderer, who'd escaped by hotwiring a car that exploded on impact with a detective's badge...
Then I took a break - popped on Netflix and realised that Lupin had already beaten me to the punch.
Fuckers.

Henchman unable to hit a barn door with an automatic weapon while the hero can take out a partially concealed baddie with his one remaining shot from a handgun. Something very wrong with henchman recruiting policies.
The last remaining baddie standing after a prolonged shootout is always the ringleader.

"Goddam it perchanski, I've got the mayor and the DA breathing down my neck, and you just destroyed the city mall chasing the perp You've got 48 hours to crack the case"
Perchanski heads to a strip club. It helps with the case somehow.

The first haircut I ever wanted was a Beatles moptop. I got overruled and got my usual "College Boy" cut.
This fact is of absolutely no use in guessing my password for anything.
Or I'm double-bluffing....

The ease at which any bent copper or OCG operative in Line of Duty is able to get immunity from prosecution..
Indiana Jones himself. Without him, the nazi’s still would have got the ark, opened it and all died. Waste of the little shitty monkey’s life

Heroes/villains having the magical ability to hotwire any random car within 60 seconds if their first car crashes. No matter how much of a pickle they are in and how injured they might be!

One sided telephone calls designed to fil the audience in quickly.
"Hello Officer Wachowski. (Pause) My ex husband has been caught at the border trying to flee with a briefcase of money you say? (Pause) Yes, I should be worried that he will now hire a henchman to come after me and cut the power to my house."
Wouldnt Wachowski be saying "I'm not telling you anything else until you promise not to repeat it."

You can get away from a car chase if you cause any US Agency vehicle to crash.
This is because: 1) US government agencies and Police forces buy vehicles designed to explode on impact. 2) As soon as it crashes it becomes a super magnet for other US Agency vehicles who have no choice but to crash into it and burst into flames themselves.

Some Saturday Morning Cinema cliffhanger endings took absolute liberties. I sympathised with Annie Wilkes in Misery, when she had her rant about it.
I remember watching one of those old black and white Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers episodes, where at the end he falls down a lift shaft and you see his (clearly a dummy) fall down into the shadows, bouncing off the shaft walks on the way. Certain death!
I thought, “Blimey! There’s no way of getting out of that one! I can’t wait to see what happens.”
The next episode, he falls into the shaft, but just managed to hold on to the edge before falling to his certain death, and pulls himself back up and out of the lift shaft.
I think that might have been the beginning of the end of my childhood innocence. I took my first step to cynical adulthood after seeing that. Completely betrayed.

Impolite phone manners. It seems the world is littered with it, going by tv and film.
Saying goodbye doesn’t take long.
